Ghadeer Saeed In Brief: Style & Themes
Ghadeer’s creations are complex, not only in execution, but also in spirit. Thematically, her work is emotionally, politically, and spiritually charged. She predominantly explores topics such as relationships, war, and human rights issues. The seamless blend of monochromatic backgrounds with the sparse yet vivid bursts of a full-spectrum of color is her signature style.
Ghadeer's Personal Profile
Ghadeer was born in Tobruk, Libya to Jordanian parents of Palestinian descent in 1971. She spent her formative high school years in Saudi Arabia before moving to Jordan, where she has lived ever since then.
She graduated as the top ranking student in the Bachelor of Science in Architecture program at Petra University, Amman, Jordan.
Ghadeer lives in Amman with her husband and children. She is an avid traveler and enjoys capturing the flavors of her destinations with her camera.
Ghadeer's Professional Background
Ghadeer’s background in architecture is reflected in the linear nature of the tens or hundreds of layers in her digital collages.
Prior to dedicating all her time to creating art, she had an illustrious career as an architect and designer at the Amman-based architectural firm Jaffar Touqan and Partners. She has also done freelance work for numerous residential, commercial and mixed-used projects in Jordan. She has participated in several local and international architectural competitions.
Ghadeer's foray into the art world began with her capturing the flavors of her destinations through her camera’s lens during her travels. Over the years, she has developed a unique style through which she incorporates her own photographs with archival images, which are brought to life through the golden standard of inkjet printing, the giclée process.
