ARTWORKS

This collection celebrates the search for a distinct national identity that played a significant role in developing modern Arab art in the 19th and 20th centuries.  Artists such as Hafidh Al Droubi and Ismail Al-Shaikhly sought to define the cultural and aesthetic values of the Arab world in new and innovative ways.

The majority of the works featured in The Modern Masters Collection was created during the mid-20th century. This period was marked by the rise of the "Arab School" of painting, which sought to express a common Arab identity through vibrant colors, bold brushstrokes, and motifs drawn from traditional Arab art and architecture.

The collection also features works created in the latter part of the 20th century, when modern Arab art became more diverse and eclectic, reflecting the increasingly globalized nature of the art world and the growing influence of contemporary art movements worldwide.
